Therapy for all sexualities, genders, + relationships
Individual therapy, relationship therapy, and EMDR for adults in Pennsylvania
I specialize in supporting non-monogamous and LGBTQIA+ adults heal from sexual trauma, relationship trauma, and anxiety.
You may be someone who is tired of repeating the cycle of showing up for others in the hopes that they'll show up for you, but instead you feel exploited. You might feel socially anxious and still deeply desire community, but the thought of "what if everyone actually hates me?" keeps you lonely. You might feel frustrated that past experiences of sexual trauma get in the way of you feeling comfortable and safe within your body. You could be starting to wonder if maybe there's more to your sexual or gender identity than what you thought before and that scares you. You may love your partner but want to cry or shrink into yourself when thinking about bringing up hard conversations with them about what you truly need.
You want to feel seen and supported by a professional who understands the complexity of living authentically in a world that oppressively claims that being unsure is bad, that saying no is wrong, and that defying norms is impossible (the world is wrong!).
Through Narrative Therapy focused on attachment and liberation, you’ll newly understand your life story to highlight your strengths and appreciate your nuances. You’ll heal from traumatic experiences using Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and other trauma therapies so that you can calmly experience safe moments in the present and build skills to cope with the inevitable moments when your experience still feels unsafe. You’ll learn how to identify your needs and how to confidently communicate those needs. You’ll navigate relationships with balance and accountability towards yourself and your loved ones.
You deserve to live a shame-free, supported, authentic life. I’d love to help you in getting there.
I'm Alicia Dlugos.
I’m a therapist who works with adults virtually all throughout Pennsylvania. I use she/her pronouns. I accept my clients without judgement and work with humility to learn how my clients experience their world while holding expansive identities. I’ve been honored to witness the vulnerability and depth of my clients inner worlds throughout my years of working with sexual trauma survivors, people with chronic health conditions, queer and trans folks, and people exploring ethical non-monogamy or polyamory.
