Fees and Payment Policies

How Much Do You Charge?

An individual therapy session costs $150 (unless you are able to use your Quest insurance benefits, see below).

If my full fee prevents you from affording individual therapy with me, I may be able to offer you a reduced fee slot. My limited number of reduced-fee slots are reserved for clients that do not have access to generational wealth and hold marginalized identities. Full fee slots offset the cost of reduced fee slots.

A relationship therapy session costs $215.

To ensure timely and convenient payment, I require that all clients (regardless of payment type or insurance status) have a credit card on file (through my secure electronic health record platform) before attending any appointments.

Please inquire directly regarding openings for lower-fee or pro-bono targeted assessments/letters for gender-affirming medical care. If I do not have openings for assessments + letters, I recommend checking out the Gender Affirming Letter Access Project.

I also can accept payment from Pennsylvania’s Victim’s Compensation Assistance Program, which offers funding for therapy for survivors of sexual assault. Please reach out to me to discuss arranging payment for therapy via PA VCAP. You can learn more about applying for the funding here.

Do You Take Insurance?

I am IN-NETWORK with Quest Behavioral Health insurance. I kindly ask that all clients who desire to use their Quest Behavioral Health insurance to be knowledgable about their benefits, including co-pays and deductibles so that we avoid any surprise fees for you in using your insurance. Your out-of-pocket payments when using your Quest Behavioral Health insurance will depend on many factors specific to your individual plan.

If you have insurance with a company (such as Aetna, Cigna, United, IBX, BCBS, etc) with which I am not in network, your insurance still might provide some reimbursement for working with me. To help, I can provide a monthly superbill that you may submit to your insurance for reimbursement after you submit payment to me directly. To confirm if your insurance plan might reimburse you for “out-of-network mental health services” please contact your insurance plan directly to inquire with them.

Please note that it is rare for any types of insurance to cover the relationship therapy that I practice. My method of practicing relationship therapy is non-pathologizing and considers the “client” to be the relationship, not one individual person within the relationship. This method of relationship work is counter to the “medical model” of care required by insurance companies and rarely meets health insurance's criteria for “medical necessity” for reimbursement.

What Is Your Cancellation Policy?

To cancel a scheduled therapy session, a minimum of 24 hours in advance of your session is required. If notification of your cancellation is not given to me at least 24 hours in advance, you will automatically be charged your full session fee for the missed session.

If you choose to use your Quest Behavioral Health insurance, you will be responsible for paying my full contracted rate with Quest for your services as a cancellation fee. This will be higher than your copay, as this includes both your copay and the fees that Quest pays me directly.

About Your Right To Receive A Good Faith Estimate Of Expected Charges

Under the law, as a health care provider, I will give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. This estimate is called a "Good Faith Estimate" and explains how much your therapy services will cost.
