Therapy Services Offered

Therapy for LGBTQIA+ Identities

Living as a queer and/or trans person in this world can feel isolating and confusing. You might have been told that living as your authentic self is "evil" or "dirty" and those negative messages are starting to make you feel sad and exhausted.

Therapy can help you release the negative messages from the world about identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, asexual, queer, non-binary, gender-fluid, and/or gender expansive (and all the identities beyond!). I want to support you in lessening feelings of shame, reprocessing traumatic and oppressive experiences, and bolstering you to live a balanced, healthy life in a world that can be undeniably unsupportive or dangerous.

Gender Affirming Letters:

I provide letters of support for gender affirming medical care to long-term psychotherapy clients who seek ongoing therapy beyond obtaining the letter. I also provide letters of support for folks who are seeking to connect specifically for a short-term clinical relationship focusing only on the assessment + letter. Reach out to me to inquire about my availability for low-fee or pro-bono assessment + letter services. As of now, I offer letters of support only for adults and do not offer assessments + letters for children.

Therapy for Sexual Trauma

After surviving a sexual assault, you may feel numb and disconnected from the world, or you might feel like your emotions are so big that you can't control them. You may feel guilt, confusion, and might find it difficult to trust yourself or new people in your life. You may have had a single experience where you were sexually violated or there may have been a pattern of sexual abuse or coercion.

Therapy can help you find the emotional stability that you've been missing and lift the heavy weight of fear from your shoulders. During therapy, you'll learn how to feel more confident in yourself, how to communicate what you need in relationships, and how to feel more comfortable in your body.

I can use EMDR (rapid eye movement) therapy to help you reprocess traumatic memories to reduce debilitating trauma symptoms like “flashbacks,” panic attacks, and feeling on edge. When you no longer have that gut-wrenching feeling when you’re reminded of your trauma, you’re able to make clearer decisions, feel calmer, and connect with others safely.

Therapy for Polyamory and Non-Monogamy

If you're considering ethical non-monogamy for the first time or are starting to feel like polyamory fits your lovestyle, you may feel confused about how to start and scared of rejection. If you're in a currently monogamous relationship, you might be feeling worried that you'll hurt your current partner or that you'll be judged by your family in friends for making this shift.

Therapy can help you explore the "hows" and "whys" of your sexuality and relationship desires in a non-judgmental space. Through gentle but intentional therapeutic process, you will gain clarity in how you want pursue the new relationship experiences and deepen your connection with yourself.

If you’re more experienced in non-monogamy or polyamory but want an affirming space to work through jealousy, boundary setting, or are noticing that your past trauma is impacting your current relationships, I am also here to help. I am an enthusiastically kink affirming and experienced clinician.

I have a limited number of slots available for relationship counseling, focusing specifically on relationships practicing non-monogamy desiring to strengthen their relationship or work through ENM-specific stressors. I utilize techniques from Emotion Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method for relationship work.
